Now that we are a super group we can engage in various activities we were prevented from doing when we were a group. One of them is a series of regular temporary exhibitions curated by members.
Our exhibitions are what we are more accustomed to calling 'features' here on dA, referring to them by a journalistic term. However,'exhibition' seems to be a more appropriate way of describing them. A group is a virtual gallery, with permanent collections. Groups also have a Faves gallery which gathers photographic work not by members of the group but deemed to be of interest to the membership, suggested by Contributors.
The temporary exhibition is a way of highlighting work, either from the permanent collection, from the Faves or, more broadly, from dA's talented artists, which deals with a particular theme, proposed by a guest curator. Each exhibition will be of a week duration. Anyone can curate an exhibition, all you have to do is get in touch with me and send me your rationale and a list of thumbs in a note. We will accept any theme that is suitable to a Fine Art Photography group.
Our first exhibition is the one earlier put together by `
phydeau when we were a group and not able to use thumbs. It is only fair that this should be the very first one in our series. Thank you Eric for all your hard work!
Alex
