How long have you been taking images?
2 decades
How were you introduced into Photography?
I worked at an art book store stocking and inventorying books- I became fascinated with the huge photo selection of books and poured over them - By the end of that job (2 years )I think I new just about every major photographer out there dead or alive. I began serious work after that- my first camera was a Diana Camera I bought after looking at the work of Nancy Rexroth.
What camera do you use?
a Diana camera - Holga - Polaroid 660 - a canon digital rebel- and I carried a nikon point and shoot( until I dropped it too many times) in my top pocket always and everywhere 24/7 (you never know whats going to happen next.)
What is your favourite type of Photography and why?
I lean towards landscape work but my interest is very wide. I love to capture the fleeting moment or see work by others who have taken on this challenge-(fog torrential rain seascapes wind blizzards 20 below zero-here I am at home)
Do you have a reason for producing your images? To tell a story, produce a scene, or is it just the desire to create?
Mostly just the desire to create but specifically to photograph something as nothing (or nothing as something.) I do wish to convey a sense of remembrance or nostalgia in the viewers mind, a connection however subtle it is to the image.
Where do you find your inspiration?
I am not sure. I guess from inside. I do have a collection of hundreds of Sotheby's catelogues of painting auctions and I look at these endlessly so I suppose I would have to say inspiration for 18th and 19th century Painting.
Is there anyone on Deviantart who has had a strong influence on your work? How and/or why?
I am not sure where admiration ends and influence begins so I will note some DA photographers I adore

Do you have any handy tips for Photographers on Deviantart?
Technically I am so random abstract that I won't even begin to lead people astray but I would say the study of art history and particularly the history of photography reaps incredible benefits- I recommend the Getty's image bank.

How did you get into photography?
My career begins when I'm 17 right after leaving high school as a designer. I assisted my uncle, who is a photographer and work under him as an assistant photographer. He taught me everything a photographer needs to know from the smallest thing of inserting a role of film until the picture is beautifully hang on the wall. I would try experimenting taking pictures from every angle whenever I have the time or when I'm free from work. Normally, I would go out with a group of friends, who share the same interest as mine, exploring ancient building or old houses and build our own set for shooting purposes.
To me, artistic value is of the utmost importance to every picture filmed or taken.Creativity is essential to create the mood of the picture and to bring out the eccentric value for every picture that I took.
What is your favorite part of it?
Photography is an art. To say which is my favorite part is quite a general statement. I always believe that everything around us is art. It is just something so delicate. It is meant to be left unknown and hidden for some reason which is why I feel the needs to explore the secret underneath it. Secrets that covers what lies beyond human mind or gods creation.
My first love in photography is always connected to the other side of the world, the afterlife, the shattered dreams or fantasies, and the despair of life and death. Every picture is captured to be meaningful, and the interpretations gained from the viewer may differ to one another. I love the idea of a picture that would challenge the mind of those who appreciate my work.
What camera do you use?
Nikon D100, Nikon F80s, Canon TX
Where do you get your inspiration?
Isolation and stress. Emotional disorder.I let it out through my artwork. Sometimes, it just came out and I will not stop until I get what I wanted.
When you were younger did you ever see yourself becoming a photographer?
No. I always wanted to be a painter or a cartoonist, but I have not been given the opportunity to study art at the moment.As for now, I'm just a regular graphic designer and an amateur artistic photographer who is always very grateful to the Creator.
I notice that a lot of your work is dark and moody, why do you choose that style over others?
It comes naturally from myself. Something I couldn't describe with words but only through my artwork. For instance, some people convey their thoughts thru writings or poems, etc. It goes the same with me.
Do you want to become a professional photographer and have your works distributed commercially or do you want to just have it be a more personal part of your life?
Maybe one day because I still have a lot to learn and my journey to become a professional photographer is still long and this is only the beginning. As for my artwork/photos, I want it to remain personal at the moment. Making it commercial would only betray my feelings of its originality. I want ppl to appreciate and understand what lies behind every picture that I took.
Have you won any awards for your photography?
No (or maybe not yet/never). I rarely participated in any photography contest, but even if I were to send one of my pictures, I doubt that I could win any prize.
